Service Description

Mixed Levels: All Are Welcome! Looking for a morning class that meets you right where you are? Whether you're brand new to clay or already building on your foundational skills, our Mixed Levels 8-Week Class is designed to support and challenge you — no matter your experience level. Led by studio founder and 20-year ceramics educator Molly Sanyour, this course offers personalized instruction in a shared studio space. We’ll begin each class together, then divide into level-based groups to work on techniques that fit your needs and goals. New to clay? You’ll follow a beginner-friendly path that introduces the fundamentals of hand-building, wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing — just like our Clay 101 class. Have some experience? You’ll explore more advanced skills like shaping, altering, and refining your personal voice through focused demos and project development. Weekly Curriculum Week 1: Beginner – Studio tour, intros, hand-building basics Advanced – Studio refresh, warm-ups, cylinder boot camp Week 2: Beginner – Cylinder boot camp Advanced – Throwing and shaping forms Week 3: Beginner – Throwing bowls Advanced – Altering forms (cutting, darting, paddling) Week 4: Beginner – Trimming + intro to glazing Advanced – Finishing altered forms + planning personal projects Weeks 5–6: All Levels – Personal project time (create a small body of work!) Week 7: All Levels – Final glazing Week 8: All Levels – Celebration + studio showcase!!!! What’s Included: – Personalized instruction from Molly, tailored to your skill level – All clay, tools, glaze, and firings for class curriculum projects – Personal shelf space for work-in-progress – Sunday Open Studio access (12–2 PM) – Drop-in access to ANY other 8-week class for make-ups or extra practice (Note: Instruction happens during your enrolled class time. Drop-ins are independent work time.) We provide all materials needed for the course. This is a learning-focused studio that prioritizes skill-building, personal expression, and creative growth — not production pottery. Outside clay and glazes are not permitted. Class runs 8 consecutive weeks: Thursdays 10am -12:30pm 7/24-9/11 Final art show + celebration: Sunday, September 14th, 12–2 PM during Open Studio!!!! Whether you’re just getting started or ready to level up, this class will meet you where you are — and help you grow from there!!!!
