Service Description
Let your child explore the world of clay through a fun, hands on creative experience with ceramic artist and educator Molly Sanyour. This 2-hour class is perfect for kids who love to build, sculpt, and get a little messy while making something totally unique. Molly will guide students step by step as they learn kid friendly hand building techniques using pinching, coiling and slabs, to explore texture and creating in a 3d world! Every child will create a one-of-a-kind clay project that will be fired, glazed, and ready for pickup in a few weeks. What kids will do: Learn hand building skills like pinching, coiling, slab rolling and sculpting Create a fully hand built clay project to keep Add textures, details, and color using tools and studio materials Explore creativity, confidence, and problem-solving through clay Have fun working in a real community pottery studio What’s included: All clay, tools, and materials Step-by-step instructions from Molly Firing and glazing of their finished piece A fun, welcoming, supportive environment A memorable creative experience they will be proud of Optional add on: Families may pair this class with Saxton’s Kids Art and Character Design Class at 9 AM for a full creative morning. If taking both, please pack a snack for the supervised break between classes.
Cancellation Policy
Molly Sanyour Ceramics Studio – Class Policies 1. Registration & Payment Pre-registration is required. Full payment is due at registration. Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the first class are fully refundable. Within 72 hours of the first class, tuition is non-refundable. 2. Materials All class clay, glaze, and firing are included for your class projects. We provide midrange white clay bodies (with/without grog), underglazes, and studio dipping glazes. No outside clay, glazes, or decals allowed without written approval. Students receive ~2’x2’ of shelf space. Items left after the last class may be discarded. 3. Cancellations If we cancel a class or session, you’ll receive a full refund or class transfer option. Weather or emergency cancellations may result in a make-up session or open studio credit. 4. Studio Policies Be respectful to others, the space, and materials. Clean your area before leaving. Closed-toe shoes, tied-back hair, and no jewelry on hands/wrists required. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in removal without refund. Damages caused by misuse may be the student’s responsibility. 5. Open Studio Access (8-weeks) Enrollment in 8-week classes includes Sunday Open Studio time from 12–2 PM and access to drop in during any other 8-week class time for make-ups or extra practice. Instruction is not provided outside your registered class time, and this should be treated as independent work time. Open Studio Access (4-weeks) Enrollment includes Sunday Open Studio time from 11–2 PM (for 4-weeks). 6. Attendance & Flexibility Students are welcome to drop in to any other class during their 8-week session to make up missed time or get extra practice. No need to email ahead, but please be mindful of space and instruction. (4-week sessions do not include drop-in hours, however, your weekly class is longer.) 7. Pick-Up Finished pieces will be ready at your final class (or the open studio Sunday following your last class). Any items left beyond 30 days may be discarded. 8. Photography & Media We may photograph or record studio sessions for marketing or educational use. If you’d prefer not to appear in photos, please notify us before class. 9. Liability By enrolling, you acknowledge the physical nature of ceramics and agree to follow all safety guidelines. You release Molly Sanyour Ceramics LLC and staff from liability for any injuries sustained during class.
