Service Description
Take your ceramics journey to the next level with our 8-week Continuing Clay Class, designed for students who have the foundational skills of working with clay (centering, throwing, trimming, hand-building, and glazing) and are ready to refine their techniques and explore new creative horizons. This course is perfect for those with basic clay knowledge, offering expert instruction and a supportive environment to grow your artistry. Whether you’re focusing on wheel throwing, hand-building, or a mix of both, you’ll have the space and tools to bring your creative visions to life. What’s Included: Personalized Instruction: Small class sizes (max 12 students) ensure one-on-one guidance tailored to your goals. Top-Quality Studio: Work in a brand-new, fully equipped studio featuring brand new electric wheels, slab rollers, extruders, and more. All Materials Provided: Includes clay for your project, studio glazes, tools, and shelf space for your projects. Extra Practice Time: Enjoy additional open studio hours on Sundays, 12 PM–2 PM, or drop in during other class times for extra practice or to make up missed sessions. Curriculum: Week 1: Introductions, studio tour, warm-ups, creating test tiles. Week 2: Share personal project ideas, start creating! Week 3: Hands-on creation time with personalized feedback. Week 4: Mid-course critique to refine your work and inspire progress. Week 5: Continue creating personal project. Week 6: Finalize all pieces for firing. Week 7: Glaze all work. Week 8: Class celebration, final critique, clean up, and out! Why This Class? Our Continuing Clay Class is more than just a course—it’s a creative community. Build connections with fellow makers, refine your techniques, have something fun to look forward to each week and grow your confidence as a ceramic artist. This course encourages you to experiment, embrace challenges, and create a body of work you’ll be proud to share. A Pathway to Membership: Our 8-week classes serve as the gateway to studio membership. When we open for memberships, you must have completed at least one full series of our 8-week classes to be considered for membership. This ensures that students are familiar with our studio processes and are ready to have access to work independently in the studio. Class Meeting Dates: TBD
